Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG)

If you have a permanent or substantial disability, you may be entitled to a means-tested disabled facilities grant (DFG) to help with the cost of adapting your home to meet your essential needs.

You can use the grant to:

• install access ramps
• widen door ways
• install a stair lift
• have a level access shower fitted

We work closely with Local Authorities across Leicestershire to provide level access wet rooms, widen door ways and install access ramps. This could mean changes to your existing property layout or extending your property to accommodate such changes.

 Once you have been awarded a Disabled Facilities Grant, your Local Authority will prepare a Schedule of Works and will ask you to contact contractors to obtain prices for the work required. We will visit your property to discuss your requirements and supply you with a quotation.
